What is Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy?
Pelvic floor physical therapy is a highly specialized form of rehabilitation focused on restoring the health, strength, and coordination of the pelvic floor muscles and surrounding structures. These muscles play a critical role in bladder and bowel control, core stability, posture, sexual health, pregnancy and postpartum recovery, and overall daily function. When the pelvic floor is not functioning properly, it can contribute to symptoms such as pelvic pain, urinary leakage, constipation, pressure or prolapse, painful intercourse, and discomfort during exercise or everyday activities.
Through comprehensive evaluations and personalized treatment plans, pelvic floor physical therapy addresses the root cause of symptoms rather than simply masking them. The goal is to improve mobility, flexibility, strength, and long-term function. Every plan of care is tailored to the individual’s goals, comfort level, and stage of life.
At Bonneville Pelvic Health, our board-certified Doctors of Physical Therapy in Ogden, Utah provide compassionate, evidence-based pelvic floor therapy in a supportive and welcoming environment. At Bonneville Pelvic Health, you are not receiving generalized care, you are working with clinicians who have intentionally dedicated their careers to understanding the complexities of pelvic health and helping patients feel empowered in their healing journey.
